Real name Jassim Jean Ramdani, the Moroccan-born Belgian rapper JeanJass was born in Charleroi on May 10, 1988. It was here that he grew up and exploded on the burgeoning Belgian rap scene in the 2010s, from which talents such as Roméo Elvis, Damso, Hamza and Krisy gradually emerged. He first joined the group Exodarap, then went on to form a landmark duo, Caballero et JeanJass, with Caballero, a Belgian rapper of Spanish origin. After three mixtapes with Exodarap(Concept Paradoxe in 2009, Exodarap LP in 2012 and L'Exode in 2013), he released the Jean XVI EP with beatmaker Le Seize in 2014, then made his first solo mixtape, Goldman, the same year. After the Instrumental EP in 2015, he turned his attention to his duo with Caballero, which saw him release three albums in the Double Hélice series between 2016 and 2018 and a mixtape, High et Fines Herbes in 2020. Then in 2021, he released his second solo album, Hat Trick, with contributions from Raf, Némir and Akhenaton. In 2022, he surrounded himself with Youssoupha, Tuerie, Fuku and Jazzy Bazz, among others, for his album Doudoune en Été, which reached number 57 in the French charts. In parallel with his ongoing duo career, JeanJass pursues his own path through collaborations with Mairo, Fuku and Keroué, before releasing Tous Ces Ongles Rongés in 2024, which reaches number 15 in the SNEP album chart in France.
