Jekalyn Carr

Jekalyn Almonique Carr was born in West Memphis, Tennessee, on April 22, 1997. She began serving in her church choir at the age of 5, when family and friends noticed that she had a good ear for music. A self-taught singer who became a lead chorister in her local church, she was called to serve in ministry at the age of eleven, both as a speaker and a singer. At 15, she turned to music with the release of her single "Greater Is Coming", which entered the Billboard Gospel Music Top 10. After receiving her first three Stellar Awards in 2019 for the album One Nation Under God, she is the first gospel artist to be inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2022 receives the Lifetime Achievement Award, following the release of Changing Your Story (Live) in 2021 and two further Stellar Awards. In 2023, the album Jekalyn is released, featuring the title track "God of War" with Elevation Worship & Elevation Rhythm. September 2024 saw the release of the tribute Jekalyn Carr Presents... The Inspiration Project, featuring songs by Emoni Wilkins, Jericho Worship and Timothy Rogers, among others. The single "Don't Faint" followed in 2025.
