South Korean singer Yoo Jeong-yeon, (born on November 1, 1996, in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea), is known mononymously as Jeongyeon. Signing with JYP Entertainment in 2010, Jeongyeon officially debuted with girl group Twice in October 2015 with the release of their first extended play, The Story Begins, and its lead single "Like Ooh-Ahh." From July 2016 to January 2017, she co-hosted the South Korean music program Inkigayo, earning the Newcomer Award at the 2016 SBS Entertainment Awards. Following several health setbacks and a hiatus from performing, Jeongyeon rejoined Twice for their 2022 world tour, renewing her contract with JYP Entertainment later that year and contributing as a lyricist on hit album Celebrate. On November 1, 2023, she made her debut as a soloist, releasing holiday cover "O Christmas Tree."
