American actor Jeremy Renner went from a series of modest roles in independent films to starring in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters in just a few years. Born on January 7, 1971, in the city of Modesto, California, he studied computer science and criminology in college before dropping out to focus on his acting career. In 2002, he got his first break by portraying serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the true-crime horror film Dahmer. After receiving his first Academy Award nomination for his role in The Hurt Locker (2008), Jeremy Renner became one of the most in-demand actors in the American film industry, landing roles in box office hits such as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), The Bourne Legacy (2012), American Hustle (2013), and Arrival (2016). In addition to his acting skills, Jeremy Renner is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and has performed songs on several film soundtracks. Preceded by a cover of The Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun,” his debut EP The Medicine appeared in 2020. It was followed by another extended play titled Live for Now later that year. Love & Titanium, Jeremy Renner's third EP, came out in 2024—nearly a year after a snowplow accident almost ended his life.
