Kim Jung Hwa, better known by her stage name J.Fla, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and YouTuber. She was born on June 10, 1987, in Seoul, South Korea. She launched her music career by creating her channel, JFlaMusic, in 2011. There, she began posting cover songs, including her first, "Halo" by Beyoncé. These covers received a lot of attention, and her views and subscribers grew rapidly. Within a few months, she had uploaded 15 additional covers, leading to her first collection, JFla's Cover 1, released in February 2012. J.Fla's official debut came with the original EP Babo Kateun Story in 2013. Over the next three years, she released six more EPs, which included both covers of English songs and original Korean tracks. In early 2017, J.Fla released her first full-length covers album, Blossom. That same year, she continued to release a lot of material with five more extended plays, and her channel reached over 5 million subscribers. However, 2018 was the real landmark year for J.Fla; she released Rose: The J.Fla Collection, a compilation of 80 tracks, and two full-length albums, Believer and Natural, covering songs by a diverse group of artists. In November 2018, she became the first independent South Korean streamer to surpass 10 million subscribers. In late 2019, J.Fla began releasing original music, starting with "Good Vibe" on September 6. She continued to expand her musical activities by founding her own record company, GOODSEN ENTERTAINMENT, in September 2022. Her latest album, Burn the Flower, featuring the lead single "Bedroom Singer," was released on June 8, 2023.
