Jo Jin-ho, better known by his mononym Jinho, is a South Korean singer, lyricist, dancer, composer, and vocal coach. He was born in Bucheon, South Korea on April 17, 1992, and grew up in Daejeon and Qingdao before settling in Seoul. At the age of 15, he decided to become a singer after watching Brian McKnight and Johan Kim perform a duet. Jinho won first place in the SM Everysing Contest in 2008 and became a trainee at SM Entertainment. He debuted as a member of SM the Ballad in November 2010, but left the company in 2015 to work as a vocal coach and later join Cube Entertainment. In 2016, Jinho participated in Pentagon Maker and debuted with Pentagon in October of that year. He also started a personal project called Magazine Ho in 2017, releasing covers in various genres and languages on the last day of each month. In 2018, he held his first mini live concert as part of the Magazine Ho cover songs project and starred in the musical Iron Mask. Jinho has also appeared on the music talk show Studio Music Hall 2 and joined season 4 of Phantom Singer as a contestant. In addition to his work with Pentagon and as a solo artist, Jinho is known for his vocal coaching skills and has trained Cube labelmates (G)I-dle and Yoo Seon-ho, among others. Jinho released his first solo mini album in Japanese, titled Cho:rd, on August 28, 2024, following with the Korean version on September 19.
