João Gomes is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who performs in the piseiro genre, one of the many subgenres of the incredibly popular forró music. Born João Fernando Gomes Valério on July 31, 2002, in Serrita, Pernambuco, he started singing in his local church choir and later enrolled in the Instituto Federal de Pernambuco to become an agricultural technician. During this time, João Gomes began uploading videos of himself singing and playing guitar to his video-streaming channel, quickly gaining popularity in social media. His studio debut, Eu Tenho a Senha, became the most-streamed album of 2021 in Brazil thanks to hit singles like "Meu Pedaço de Pecado," "Se For Amor," and "Eu Tenho a Senha," which helped the young singer earn nominations for Breakthrough of the Year and Song of the Year at the Multishow Awards. Later that year, he returned with his first live album, Ao Vivo em Fortaleza, followed by his sophomore effort Digo Ou Não Digo in early 2022. A second live LP titled Acredite, Pt. 1 saw the light in September of that year and featured appearances by L7NNON and Yara Tchê, who guested on the track "Esperando Você / Mundo Inteiro."
