A film director and editor, American composer John Ottman (b. San Diego, 1964) is best known for scoring such blockbuster films as Usual Suspects (1995), X-Men 2 (2003) and Superman Returns (2006), in close collaboration with Bryan Singer, and for some of his fifty or so compositions. 2009 saw the release of the films Urban Legend 2(Coup de grâce), which he directed himself, andAstro Boy, by David Bowers. A prolific composer, John Ottman continues to work on the X Men series(Days of Future Past, 2014 and Apocalypse, 2016), between other projects such as Without Identity (2011) and Jack, the Giant Hunter (2013).
