Jonasu

Jonasu is the stage name of DJ, producer, and songwriter Jonas David Kröper, who rose to fame in 2020 with his single "Black Magic." Born on August 25, 1990, in Mannheim, Germany, he studied jazz drums at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and began his professional career in 2018 with the single "Let It Be Me" featuring Naum. In 2020, Jonasu earned two Buma Awards for helping co-write the Sam Feldt single "Post Malone." That year, he also produced the track "Pon It" by New Zealand rapper JessB and issued the single "Black Magic," which cracked the Top 5 in the UK in 2021 after being used on the British date game show Love Island. The single was also a major hit in streaming services and was certified platinum in the UK after selling over 600,000 copies. This success was followed later that year by singles with Busy Signal ("Bad Gyal"), Martin Jensen ("Make My Mind Go"), and JC Stewart ("On My Mind"), as well as the Rêve collaboration "All Night & Every Day" in 2022.
