Kim Joo-young, also known as Jooyoung, is a South Korean R&B singer-songwriter born on March 9, 1991 in Cheongju, South Korea. He began his music career in 2010, releasing covers and digital singles under RealCollabo. His first mini-album, From Me to You, was released in December 2012, with the self-composed song "네게 난" as the title track. Jooyoung left RealCollabo in April 2013 and joined Starship Entertainment. He has since released several singles, including "91" and "3", both iin 2015. He has also released his first soundtrack "들리나요 (Can You Hear Me)" in 2016 for SBS drama Remember: War of the Son. In 2018, Jooyoung returned from his mandatory military service and released the mini-album Fountain. From April to May 2018, Jooyoung was a contestant on the Mnet show, Breakers, where he made it to the semi-finals. In June 2019, he released the single "아름 (Pure Happiness)" featuring George and "Samchong View (삼청 View)" featuing pH-1. On December 17, 2021, Starship Entertainment announced that Jooyoung would be leaving the label.
