José Madero, born on September 1, 1980, in Monterrey, Mexico, is a singer-songwriter who first gained fame as the frontman of PXNDX, a rock band he co-founded in 1996, before launching a successful solo career in 2016. With PXNDX, he released eight studio albums, including Para ti con desprecio (2005) and Poetics (2009), establishing himself as one of the leading voices in Latin rock. His solo debut, Carmesí (2016), was a commercial success, earning gold and platinum certifications, followed by Noche (2017) and Psalmos (2019), the latter marking his most introspective and personal work. His fifth studio album, Giallo (2022), showcased his continued evolution as an artist, while the Aurora EP (2023) explored a more acoustic and introspective side. In 2024, he released Sarajevo, further solidifying his place in the Latin alternative scene. Beyond music, José Madero is also an accomplished writer, with books such as Pensándolo bien, pensé mal (2014) and Pesadillas para cenar (2018), and he co-hosts the podcast Dos Nombres Comunes.
