Born on August 7, 1984, in New Jersey, Joseph Trapanese is a composer, arranger and producer best known for his work in the film, television, and video game industries. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, he first came to prominence when he collaborated with French duo Daft Punk on the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy (2010). After receiving rave reviews for his work, he began collaborating with other artists including Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda (2011’s The Raid: Redemption) and M83 (2013’s Oblivion). Joseph Trapanese provided additional music for 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction as well as scoring Straight Outta Compton (2015), Only the Brave (2017) Lady and the Tramp (2019), Project Power (2020) and 8-Bit Christmas (2021). His television work includes Tron: Uprising (2012-2013), Dead of Summer (2016), Quantico (2016-2017), Unsolved (2018) ) and The Witcher (2021), which features the track “Burn, Butcher, Burn”, co-written with Joey Batey and Sneha Koorse. Joseph Trapanese’s work in the video game field includes music composed for games such as Need for SpeedPayback (2017) and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge (2020). While not as prolific in this realm, he has also composed music for live theater including productions by The Actors Company Theatre.
