Joshi Mizu is an Austrian rapper who was born Joseph Valenzuela in Vienna and took the name Joshi Mizu (derived from the name of Tekken character Yoshimitsu) when he began rapping in the early 2000s. Around that time he was part of the group Family Bizz, who came into the Austrian popular consciousness when they wrote and performed a song for the Life Ball charity event in support of people suffering from HIV and AIDS. Mizu went on to support his friend RAF Camora on tour, also appearing on several of his album tracks as a featured artist. In November 2012 Mizu moved into the spotlight in his own right, releasing the EP 'Zu! Name' for free online. The next year he signed to RAF Camora's label Indipendenza, releasing his full-length debut 'MDMA' in 2014 and reaching number 37 on the German Albums Chart. The follow-up, 'MDMD', was released in 2015 and 'Kaviar & Toast' and 'Ching Ching' followed in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
