Julie Daraîche, born on April 27, 1938, in Saint-François-de-Pabos, Quebec, is a Canadian country singer. Affectionately known as the Queen of Country Music, her rich voice and heartfelt performances endeared her to audiences around the world. Julie Daraîche’s musical journey began in 1965 when she joined forces with the talented Duguay brothers, who accompanied her on guitar and violin. Their collaboration proved to be a winning combination, and Julie soon found herself recording her first album in 1967, marking the beginning of a remarkable career that would span over five decades. Throughout the 1970s, Julie Daraîche embarked on extensive tours, captivating audiences not only in her native Quebec but also in the United States. In 1979, Julie Daraîche's talent was recognized when she won the prestigious Félix Award for Best Country Album, which she shared with her brother Paul.
