Julien Dassin is the second and last son of Joe Dassin, who died a few months after his birth. He devotes himself to managing his father's work, publishing a souvenir book with his brother Jonathan in 2000, featuring a wealth of unpublished, intimate photos of the idol. In 2010, Julien Dassin decided to devote a tribute show to Joe Dassin to mark the 30th anniversary of his death. Il Etait une Fois...Joe Dassin was a well-deserved success, as no-one has forgotten Joe Dassin's poetic, joyful songs. Julien Dassin then decided to pay tribute to a friend of his grandfather, the film-maker Jules Dassin, by covering Yves Montand's repertoire. He released the album Monsieur Montand in 2012 with Florence Coste. Together, they happily revisit the timeless repertoire of the creator of "La Bicyclette".
