Jurina Matsui

Matsui Jurina, born March 8, 1997, in Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, began her idol career by passing the auditions for the first generation of SKE48 in 2008. She quickly rose to prominence within the group and simultaneously held a concurrent position with AKB48. Jurina made history as the youngest member to be selected for an AKB48 single at the age of 11, and her involvement in numerous singles helped boost her visibility. She also engaged in various side projects, including acting in dramas and participating in a temporary unit, AKB Idoling!!!, further diversifying her career portfolio. Throughout her tenure with SKE48 and AKB48, Jurina was known for her significant contributions to the group's performances and was a regular fixture in their election-driven single selections, often placing within the top ranks. She spearheaded many of SKE48's hits and served as a dual center with Rena Matsui, particularly noted for their work in the single "Gomen ne, Summer"(2010) Jurina's career was also marked by health-related hiatuses, reflecting the intense pressure of idol life. Despite these challenges, she continued to participate actively in the group's activities, contributing creatively by venturing into lyric writing. She eventually graduated from SKE48 in 2021 with a significant farewell concert, closing a significant chapter in her idol career. As a solo career, she released "Orange no Bus"(2021) and Privacy (2019).
