Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kalash Criminel (born Amira Kiziamina on February 14, 1995) is a French rapper and lyricist. Kiziamina spent the first years of his life in Kinshasa but he and his family fled to France in order to avoid the First Congo War. They relocated to Rougemont, in Sevran, where he started rapping during his teenage years. Shortly after, he joined the hip-hop crew Hall 14 alongside fellow rappers Daystiil, Kifa, Krimo JS et Zino5. The group was signed to 10/12 Records and released “Traumatiser” (2012), a menacing freestyle that established them as a force to be reckoned with in the French underground hip-hop scene. Preceded by the singles “10 12 14 Bureau,” “Arrêt du cœur,” and “Sale sonorité,” the mixtape R.A.S. (2015) marked both the beginning of the rapper’s solo career and his leap into the spotlight, obtaining a gold certification after selling almost 3,000 copies in France. He followed up with Oyoki (2017), a second mixtape that saw the light via Def Jam Records and was also certified gold by the SNEP. In 2018, Kiziamina stepped up his game with the highly-acclaimed La Fosse aux Lions, his studio debut, which featured collaborations with Gradur, Soolking, and Vald, and surpassed all expectations by selling more than 13,000 copies upon its initial release. A deluxe version arrived in 2019 and was followed closely by a second studio album titled Sélection Naturelle (2020), whose single “Dans la zone,” a collaborative track with Marseillais rapper Jul, peaked at Number 19 in the French Singles Chart. In 2022, Kalash Criminel teamed up with frequent collaborator and fellow MC Kaaris on the album SVR, which topped the French charts thanks to the success of the Top 5 single "Apocalypse."
