Japanese multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Kan Sano began his career young, at the age of eleven he was composing music. He began performing, mostly his own solo piano work at 16-years-old. He moved to the United States and in 2006, at the age of 23, he graduated from the prestigious Berkley Music College with a degree in Jazz Composition - this course also saw him and his band perform at the world famous Monterey Jazz Festival. Following a string of successful collaborations with artists as diverse as Mabanua, grooveman Spot, Madlib, Shing02, Eric Lau, Monday Michiru, Chara, Ohashi Trio, Twigy and Ryhmester, he released his first solo album, 'Fantastic Farewell', in 2011. He followed this in 2012, under the pseudonym of Bennetrhodes with the album 'Sun Ya', which proved to be huge club hit. 2019 saw the release of his LP 'Ghost Notes' on which he played keyboard, drum, bass, guitar, trumpet, vocals, as well as writing and producing every track.
