KATSEYE (stylized in all caps) is a global girl group based in Los Angeles, California. The sextet was formed through the reality show Dream Academy, a collaboration between Hybe and Geffen Records. Out of over 120,000 applicants, twenty contestants were selected to compete in Dream Academy, where a series of "missions" determined the final six-member lineup. The show premiered on August 19, 2023, and concluded on November 18, resulting in the selection of Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, Yoonchae Jeong, Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, and Manon Bannerman as the members of KATSEYE. The group officially debuted on June 28, 2024, with their single “Debut”, which entered the charts at number 194. Their second single, “Touch”, released on July 26, climbed to number 83 on the JWAVE charts and reached number 16 in New Zealand. Both tracks feature on their first extended play (EP) SIS (Soft Is Strong), released on August 16.
