The Georgian classical concert pianist Khatia Buniatishvili is renowned as a highly intelligent musician. Her confident, flamboyant stage shows tend to attract good and bad reviews in almost equal measures but the one thing all the critics agree on is that Buniatishvili is an outstanding concert pianist. She made her US debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008 at the age of 21 and has since performed at major festivals and venues around the globe including Hollywood Bowl, the iTunes Festival, Royal Festival Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Salzburg Festival and many more. Her musical collaborators include Placido Domingo, Kent Nagano, Philippe Jordan and some of the world's most famous orchestras. In 2010 Buniatishvili signed an exclusive deal with Sony and her debut album 'Frans Liszt' was released in 2010 to coincide with the composer's 200th birthday. Her third album 'Motherland' was a collection of music with a personal connection and attracted some adverse comment from critics. Since 'Motherland' she has reverted to more conventional compilations and has established herself as a major international classical artist.
