Formed in Marseille in 2000, Kid Francescoli is as much a band as it is the artistic extension of Mathieu Hocine. After the introductory album Kid Francescoli in 2006, he shared his French pop and French Touch-influenced sonic ramblings with singer Laetitia Abello on the follow-up It's Happening Again, released in 2009. It was with another singer named Julia Minkin that Kid Francescoli scored his first hit with "Blow Up" in May 2013. The album With Julia released in March 2015 celebrates this musical and amorous passion. The follow-up, Play Me Again (2017), solidified their success with " Moon (and It Went Like...) ". Despite the interruption of Lovers (2020) tours by the pandemic, the band resumed worldwide performances in 2021, including sold-out shows at iconic venues such as L'Olympia. Hocine's music, renowned for its cinematic quality, has featured extensively in films, series and brand commercials. The sixth album, Sunset Blue (2023), delves into the artist's Mediterranean roots and personal milestones, featuring collaborations with various singers.
