Kidda

Mërgim Kida, who goes by the alter ego Kidda, was born on August 7, 1997 in Gävle, Sweden. As the son of Kosovan parents, the rapper grew up in Malmö under difficult social conditions, but found an outlet for channeling his emotions early on in various sporting activities. Kidda also discovered his talent for music as a teenager, constantly tinkering with beats and starting to write his own lyrics very early on. The first single releases such as "In My Zone" and "Right Here", which appeared in 2016, were followed by the debut LP E imja in 2017. The record, which was produced in collaboration with DJ A-Boom, immediately made it to number 36 on Swiss sales lists. Kidda, who from then on was able to peddle his public reputation and recognition in the scene, subsequently released several individual tracks, such as "Bye Bye" (2018) and "Jump on It", which was released in 2019. in 2020, both "Malli " (number 20) and "Cataleya " (number 51) entered the Swiss charts and gave Kidda, who also achieved millions of streams, an additional boost to his reputation. The international breakthrough for the artist, who is stylistically adept at Balkan-style instrumentals as well as dancehall elements, came in 2021: his song "Pale " not only reached a respectable 26th place in Switzerland, but this time also made it onto the charts in Germany (57th place) and Austria (51st place). In 2022, Kidda released two more singles, "Low" and "Anaconda" (together with Tayna). Two years later, the rapper achieved a respectable 18th place in the Swiss singles charts with "Ça je". The single "Si Je" (together with MC Kresha and Lyrical Son) followed at the beginning of 2025.
