Kihyun

Kihyun is the stage name of K-pop singer Yoo Ki-hyun, who performed with the boy band Monsta X for seven years sbefore releasing his solo debut, Voyager, in 2022. Born on November 22, 1993, in Seoul, South Korea, he appeared on the TV show No.Mercy in 2015 and released two solo singles on the program's accompanying soundtrack, charting at Number 5 on the Gaon Digital Chart with "Pillow." He joined Monsta X that same year and went on to enjoy multi-platinum success with the group, whose blend of aggressive hip-hop and melody-driven pop was showcased on Number 1 albums like 2018's Take.1 Are You There? and 2020's Fatal Love. Although he continued to make appearances as a solo artist on soundtracks like 2017's Suspicious Partners and 2020's Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, it wasn't until 2022 that Yoo Ki-hyun truly launched a career outside of Monsta X. Voyager was released that March, featuring three songs that downplayed his hip-hop past in favor of R&B influences. The release reached Number 3 on South Korean's Gaon Albums Chart, with the title track climbing to Number 6 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales. Meanwhile, the record's remaining songs also became Top 10 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, where ", (Comma)" hit Number 9 and "Rain" hit Number 8.
