Kim Kyu-jong

Kim Kyu-jong is a South Korean actor and musician, and a member of the boy band SS501. He was born on February 24, 1987, in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, South Korea. He debuted as part of SS501 in 2005, with the release of the group's album Warning in 2005. The group quickly gained popularity, winning numerous rookie awards and establishing a dedicated fanbase known as "Triple S." In 2006, Kim Kyu-jong began his acting career with a role in the Mnet drama Break as well as serving as DJ for SS501's Youngstreet on SBS Radio. SS501's first studio album, S.T 01 Now, was released in 2006. The group received the Newcomer Award at the Japan Gold Disc Awards in 2008. SS501 continued to release popular albums in South Korea and Japan. They contributed to the Boys Over Flowers soundtrack with "Because I'm Stupid," which won the Best OST award at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2010, Kim Kyu-jong signed with B2M Entertainment to pursue solo activities. He made his musical theater debut in Goong: Musical in 2011 and released his first solo mini-album, Turn Me On (2011). He starred in the drama Saving Madame Go Bong Shil in 2011. In 2012, he released a mini-album, Meet Me Again, dedicated to his fans before enlisting for mandatory military service. After completing his military service in 2014, Kim Kyu-jong returned to the entertainment industry with roles in the drama S.O.S Please Save Me and the musical Singin' in the Rain. He released the EP Play in Nature in 2018, which peaked at number 3 on the South Korean charts.
