Kirinji

Kirinji are a Japanese J-pop and indie rock band formed in Sakado in 1996 by singer-guitarist Takaki Horigome and his brother, singer-guitarist Yasuyuki Horigome, who left to pursue a solo career in 2013. Others in the line-up include pedal steel guitarist Genichi Tamura, guitarist Erino Yumiki, bassist Manabu Chigasaki and drummer Hitoshi Kusunoki. Singer Rieko Miyoshi, who goes by Kotringo, was with them from 2013 to 2017. Their debut album 'Paper Driver's Music' came out in 1998 and they have released several others including 'Fine' (2001), 'For Beautiful Human Life' (2003), 'Dodecagon' (2006), 'Buoyancy' (2010), 'Ten' (2013), 'Neo' (2016) and 'Ai Wo Arudake, Subete' (2018). Singles include 'Aliens' (2000), 'Sweet Soul' (2003), 'Romantic Kaido' (2006), 'Natsu No Hikari' (2010), 'Manatsu No Saga' (2015), 'Jikan Ga Nai' (2018) and 'Killer Tune Kills Me' (2019) featuring YonYon. Their 2012 digital single 'Inore Norouna' went to number 84 on Billboard's Japan Hot 100 and 'Namida Ni Akitara' (2012) peaked at number 62. Their 2019 schedule included appearances at venues in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
