K.I.Z

K.I.Z. is a German hip-hop band from Berlin, founded in 2000. Their debut Das RapDeutschlandKettensägenMassaker was released in 2005. K.I.Z. only entered the German charts with their second album Hahnenkampf. Number 9 and gold status marked the breakthrough for K.I.Z. in Germany. The band released further longplayers with Sexismus Gegen Rechts (2009), Urlaub Fürs Gehirn (2011), Hurra die Welt geht unter (2015) and Rap Über Hass (2021). Both albums reach number 1 in the German charts. K.I.Z. also achieved a number 1 position in Austria and Switzerland. Well-known singles by K.I.Z. are "Hölle", "Urlaub fürs Gehirn", "Ein Affe und ein Pferd", "Boom Boom" and "Hurra die Welt geht unter". in 2021, the band released the single "Danke Merkel", a song to mark the departure of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. K.I.Z. enjoy working with other well-known artists, including Bela B. from the band Die Ärzte, Peter Fox, Henning May, Haftbefehl, Callejon and Ice-T. K.I.Z. have received several awards for their music. In 2015 and 2016, the band won the 1LIVE Krone radio award in the Best Live Act category. The Hiphop.de Awards also go to K.I.Z. twice, in 2007 as Best Newcomer German and in 2011 as Best Rap Crew National. The band is also politically active and regularly performs at concerts against racism and xenophobia. After a three-year break, K.I.Z. returned in June 2024 with the album Görlitzer Park.
