Klaas

German house DJ/producer Klaas boasts a vast discography of single releases dating back to 2006. Born Klass Gerling on January 3rd, 1981 in Cologne, the mononymous musician and Scream & Shout Recordings alumnus made a name for himself with remixes for the likes of Fragma, Dr. Kucho! and Gregor Salto, and soon struck gold in 2008 with his shimmering remix of the Guru Josh Project’s “Infinity”. First released via Ministry of Sound, his electro-leaning reinterpretation of the 1989 acid house track proved a hit, storming the European EDM scene and getting picked up by Ultra Music. It went triple platinum in Spain and topped charts internationally, reaching number three in the UK. Gerling swiftly followed up “Infinity” with a 2009 remix of Haddaway’s “What is Love”, which reached #5 in France. Enjoying minor chart success with a slew of original tracks in the ensuing years, he was commissioned for a spate of high-profile pop remixes, reimagining Example’s “Kickstarts”, Stromae’s “House’llujah” and Alesha Dixon’s “Radio” among other tracks, the latter of which featured an exclusive verse from UK rap heavyweight Wiley. Shortly after releasing a pair of 2013 collaborations with LGBTQ+ icon Kim Petras, “Flight to Paris” and “Heartbeat”, Gerling spent a five-year stint with independent dance label Planet Punk, before signing to You Love Dance in 2019. To date, he has continued to carve a niche for himself with modern takes on Eurodance classics like Robert Miles’ “Children” and Alexandra Stan’s “Mr. Saxobeat”, while also collaborating multiple times with superstar DJs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and scoring another solo hit in the form of the 2018 single “Ok Without You”.
