Krept & Konan are a rap duo from Croydon, London formed by Casyo 'Krept' Johnson and Karl 'Konan' Wilson. Konan is the son of the Jamaican reggae and ska singer Delroy Wilson. They formed in 2009 and impressed with their 2010 mixtape 'Tsunami'. In 2011 their cover of Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'Otis' was a YouTube hit. In the same year, a gunman broke into the house of Konan's mother, injuring her and killing Konan's step-father. Krept & Konan wrote about this traumatic experience on the single 'My Story'. They supported Skepta on his tour later that year and credited him for his help in the lyrics of 'My Story'. In 2013 they released the mixtape 'Young Kingz' featuring Giggs, Chip and Tiny Tempah. In 2014 they released their debut studio album 'The Long Way Home'. This featured guest appearances from Ed Sheeran, Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa. In 2017 they released two more mixtapes, '7 Days' featuring Skepta and Stormzy and '7 Nights' featuring Hudson East and Tony Lanez. In 2019 the duo released 'Ban Drill' a single in which they argued that banning drill music could turn youngsters back to a life of crime.
