Kurt Nilsen

Norwegian singer Kurt Nilsen began his career when he won the inaugural series of the Norwegian version of 'Pop Idol' in 2003. His debut single 'She's So High' hit number one on the Norwegian VG-Lista Singles Chart with his debut album 'I' releasing shortly after. He competed in 'World Idol' in 2004 against winners of other shows around the world. He won the competition, beating Will Young and Kelly Clarkson to the title. He released his second album in the same year, under the title 'Part of Me'. After touring with fellow Norwegian artists Askil Holm, Alejandro Fuentes and Espen Lind as The New Guitar Buddies, he teamed up with Melanie C on a collaboration of her hit 'When You're Gone'. The New Guitar Buddies released albums in 2006 and 2009 titled 'Hallelujah - Live' and 'Hallelujah - Live Volume 2'. They both achieved the number one spot on the VG-Lista Albums Chart. In 2012 Nilsen became a judge on the show that made him famous. He released 'Inni En God Periode' and 'Kurt Nilsen Live' in 2013 followed by 'Amazing' in 2017.
