With La Canaille, it's almost a case of "intellectual" rap. La Canaille, who won the "Révélation du Printemps de Bourges 2007" label for good reason, develop well-written lyrics and a hybrid sound between rock and rap. The name of the group, from Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), comes from a workers' chant from 1871. La Canaille released their debut album Une Goutte de Miel dans un Litre de Plomb in September 2009. LaCanaille continues its protest movement with Par Temps de Rage (2011) and La Nausée (2014).
