Madrid-based trap artist La Zowi was born Zoe Canto in Paris in 1993. The daughter of a poet and a musician, she absorbed the mentality of an artistic life, and the traditions of Flamenco music, from a young age. She began her early years working with the artists at La Vendicion Records, and began her music career in 2013 with “Raxeta”, which she released on social media. As trap dictates, La Zowi writes about money and drugs, but she also tells stories about the strong women in that violent world who are unafraid to use their sexuality to get what they want. She released a number of new singles in 2016 including “Mi Chulo” and “Random hoe”. She kept up that pace in 2017 with such titles as “Money hoe” and “High”. Ama de casa, her first mixtape, was released in 2018. In 2020 she put out her second mixtape, Elite, and released the single “Suga Mami”, a collaboration with Albany.
