Lagum is a Brazilian band originating from Brumadinho, Minas Gerais. The group was formed in 2014 by Pedro Calais (vocalist), Otávio Cardoso (guitarist), Jorge Borges (guitarist), and Francisco Jardim (bassist). Their journey began when Pedro Calais shared a composition video on social media, which attracted the attention of other members and led to the band's formation. After some live performances, the band made their official recording debut with the album Seja o Que Eu Quiser in 2016. The group continued writing, recording, and performing over the course of the following years, but their breakthrough came with the release of the single "Deixa" in February 2018, featuring Ana Gabriela. The song's success on radios and streaming platforms raised their profile in Brazil, leading to a contract with Sony Music. Their second album, Coisas da Geração, was released in 2019. The group earned the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira for "Fiat Argo Experimente" that year. In 2020, Lagum released the single "Será," a collaboration with Brazilian singer IZA, which became one of the group's most famous singles. Tragically, in September 2020, percussionist Tio Wilson passed away. Lagum continued their musical journey, releasing Memórias (De Onde Eu Nunca Fui) in 2021, which earned them a Latin Grammy nomination, and Depois do Fim in 2023.
