Lara Fabian

Lara Fabian was born Lara Crokaert in Etterbeek, Belgium, on January 9, 1970. With a career that began early, a powerful voice and a sense of stage theatricality, by the 1990s she had established herself as one of the most popular "chanteuses à voix" in the French-speaking world. Revealed to the French public in 1997 with the huge hits "Tout " and "Je t'aime", she also enjoyed success abroad and gradually became a sought-after songwriter as well. Whether annoying with her grandiloquence or moving and touching, this singer in the tradition of Barbra Streisand and Céline Dion has become one of the biggest stars of the French-speaking music scene since the mid-1990s. In 2015, two years after the conceptual album Le Secret, Ma Vie Dans la Tienne was released. Céline Dion's next album, Camouflage (2017), was a complete change of register, moving into urban, danceable pop, before returning to the French language in a pop-electronic style on Papillon (2019).
