Lasso, born Andrés Vicente Lazo Uslar in Caracas, Venezuela, on February 18, 1988, began his music career as the frontman of Karnavali before launching his solo career in 2011 with the album Sin otro sentido, which earned platinum certification in Venezuela. His early success led to opening performances for Miley Cyrus and Raphael, and he soon transitioned into acting with a role in the telenovela Nacer contigo. After relocating to Mexico in 2015, he signed with Universal Music and released El exilio voluntario de una mente saturada, marking a shift in his musical style. In 2019, he gained international recognition with "Un millón como tú" featuring Cami, which surpassed 100 million streams. His collaborations with artists like Danna Paola ("Subtítulos"), Ana Guerra ("Los amigos no se besan en la boca"), and Sebastián Yatra ("Ojos marrones") further cemented his presence in Latin pop. The viral success of "Ojos marrones" in 2022 propelled him into global charts and led to a remix with Yatra. His fourth album, Eva (2023), achieved platinum status in Mexico, solidifying his evolution as a leading voice in Latin pop-rock.
