A pianist of international renown, Laurent Cabasso successfully won competitions in the 1980s, before performing at festivals such as La Roque d'Anthéron, the Piano des Jacobins (Toulouse), in the USA and Asia. Professor of piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, he combines this activity with a solo career. His repertoire ranges from Romantic to Neoclassical, and includes works by Schubert, Schumann, Prokofiev and Shostakovich, as well as pieces by French composers Guillaume Lekeu and Gabriel Pierné. Awarded a prize in 2004 for a Liszt recital with organist Olivier Vernet, Laurent Cabasso was acclaimed in 2011 for his program of Beethoven(Diabelli Variations) and Schubert(Wanderer Fantasy).
