Bhangra singer Lehmber Hussainpuri was born in Hussainpur, Punjab, India on July 17, 1977. His musical career has included devotional recordings, Punjabi folk / hip-hop, and music recorded Bollywood films. He first came to prominence in 2005 when he began working with British-Indian songwriter and producer Dr. Zeus on singles such as “Sachiyan Suniyan” and “Je Jatt” and the hit album Folk Attack. His collaboration with Dr. Zeus was short-lived and by 2006’s album Chalakiyan, he was working with several producers including Jeeti, who collaborated with Lehmber Hussainpuri on hit tracks such as “Mera Mahi Tu Pateya.” After the release of his 2007 album Phuchal, Lehmber Hussainpuri took a break as a solo artist but did collaborate with several artists – DesiRock, Jeeti, and others – before returning in 2011 with his long-awaited album Folk Attack 2, which was produced by Jeeti, Kam Frantic, and others. He also recorded many well-received songs for Indian cinema (Bollywood) Some of his most popular soundtrack recordings include “Sadi Gali” (from 2011’s Tanu Weds Manu), “Bhoot Aya” (from 2011’s F.A.L.T.U.), “Phuchal” (from 2012’s Sirphire), “Free Mind” (from 2013’s Aashiqui Not Allowed), “Goli” (from 2014’s iPhone Mann), “Boliyan” with Bhinda Aujla (from 2017’s Thug Life) and “Viah” with Inderjit Nikku (from 2020’s Jaan Toh Pyara). Not losing sight of his solo career, Lehmber Hussainpuri released several acclaimed solo and collaboration singles over the years including “Bhangra Pauna” (2015), “Ui Ui” (2016), “Beat Crazy” (2020), and “Tere Ton Sohni” (2021).
