Les Louanges is the project of Lévis-born songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and performer Vincent Roberge, who made a name for himself in 2016 with the Mercure EP, released for listening on Bandcamp. Reissued with an additional track entitled "Encéphaline", it was awarded the Prix de la chanson SOCAN the following year. Surrounded by live musicians, Vincent Roberge performed at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby in 2015, then at the Francofolies de Montréal, where he reached the finals in 2017. His eclectic musical style, in which French-language song blends with pop, rock, electro and rap influences in a minimalist vein, was well received on the release of his album La Nuit Est Une Panthère (2018), which earned him the title of Revelation of the Year from Radio-Canada and was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize. A regular at the Transmusicales de Rennes festival, where he is programmed five times, Les Louanges returns to his literature studies and continues to compose and record. The Expansion Pack EP, released in 2019, is followed in 2022 by the second album Crash (ranked #58), featuring the participation of Rwandan-born singer Corneille on the title track.
