The success of Nolwenn Leroy's album Bretonne in winter 2010/2011 kick-started a series of projects designed to bring Breton tradition back to the masses. The Les Marins d'Iroise choir, based in Brest (Finistère), has been in existence since 1992, and is made up of around thirty retired members, all of whom are passionate about boats and sea chanteys. The album Les Marins d'Iroise was released at the end of June 2011, with the support of the French TV channel TF1, which made it its summer priority. The album proved a huge success, reaching number four in the charts and spending forty-five weeks on the French best-seller list. In 2012, La Belle Aventure aims to repeat the feat with a marine version of Georges Brassens' "Les Copains d'abord" and "Hasta Luego", a duet with Hugues Aufray.
