The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir first came to attention as participants in the BBC2 show 'The Choir: Sing While You Work' in 2013. Following the show, they released their debut album 'Something Inside So Strong' in 2013. The most successful single from the album, 'A Bridge Over You' (2013), was a mash-up of Simon and Garfunkel's 1970 hit 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and Coldplay's 2005 hit 'Fix You'. After failing to reach number one at Christmas in 2013, there was a widespread social media promotion in 2015 to promote the single again. This was successful, and 'A Bridge Over You' reached number one in the UK Singles Chart at Christmas 2015. All the proceeds from the album were given to charities. In 2016, the choir went on to perform at several high-profile public events including Glastonbury Festival, The FA Cup Final at Wembley and as part of the 'Stand Up to Cancer' concert in Wembley Arena.
