Born Laurent Heinrich, French DJ and producer Lifelike began his career in electronic music under the pseudonym Ferris Bueller, releasing two EPs in 1999 and 2000, before taking the name that would make him famous. His first release under this name, the EP "The Soul of My Love" (2002), hit the charts and, like his follow-up "The Cult", attracted the interest of "French Touch" godfathers such as Alex Gopher and Thomas Bangalter. The artist, who produces regular releases on various labels, also proves to be a popular remixer for Demon, Joachim Garraud, Nu-Matic, Geyster, Turbofunk and Shapeshifters, before attracting international stars such as Australian singer Sia ("Day Too Soon" in 2007), Chromeo, The Presets, Moby, La Roux and Vitalic in the 2000s. Lifelike also collaborated on his own tracks with Roman Salzger on the Regina EP (2004) and Kris Menace on "Discopolis" (2005), for Alan Braxe's Vulture label. This track, which is his best-known and features remixes by Chris Lake and Kerri Chandler, became the best-selling vinyl album of the year in France, selling over thirty thousand copies, before its reissue on Defected Records in 2006. In 2007, "So Electric" was released in the UK on the prestigious Wall of Sound label, enabling the DJ to tour the USA with Alan Braxe. Lifelike then set up his own Computer Science label, under which he released tracks such as "Heatwave" and "Motion" in 2011), "Getting High" in 2012 and "Pacific Palisades" in 2017. He also collaborates with UK label Anjunadeep, and in 2020 teams up with singer Alex Rossi for "Italo Amore".
