Whether a true future talent or a clever publicity stunt, 12-year-old Lil Thug was soon heralded as a French rap phenomenon. His father was a member of the obscure group Sales Blancs, who claimed to be pioneers of French West Coast rap. Lil Thug, for his part, likes to practice Lil' Jon-style crunk. Despite a certain amount of media hype, his 2008 track "Ma vie" never got beyond the curiosity stage.
