Born on 31 July 1995, Symere Woods, who goes by the name Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper who began rapping and making mixtapes in his hometown of Philadelphia as a teenager. In 2018, he received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Noted for his rapid delivery, he released EP Purple Thoughtz Vol. 1 in 2014 followed by mixtape The Real Uzi and collaborated on tracks with artists such as Carnage, Lil Durk, Dec Loaf, Fall Out Boys and Wiz Khalifa. He features on Migos' "Bad and Boujee" (2017), which topped Billboard's Hot 100 and the Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance. He also features with Kanye West on Travis Scott's "Watch" (2018), which reached number eight on the Rap Songs Chart, number nine on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and 16 on the Hot 100. His 2017 single "The Way Life Goes" featuring Nicki Minaj peaked at number eleven on the Rap Songs and the R&B/Hip-Hop charts and number 24 on the 100. His debut studio album The Perfect LUV Tape (2016) went to number 12 on the Top Rap Albums Chart, number 20 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and number 55 on the Billboard 200. Lil Uzi Vert Vs the World (2017) peaked at number 12 on the Rap Chart, number 18 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 37 on the 200. Luv Is Rage 2 (2017) topped the Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and the 200 and reached number 14 on the UK Albums Chart. Single "New Patek" reached number 12 on the Rap Songs Chart, number 14 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and 24 on the Hot 100 in 2018. The following year he signed with Roc Nation, and in March 2020 he released his highly anticipated second studio album, Eternal Atake. His next full-length LP Pink Tape surfaced three years later; a genre-mashing experiment that welcomed guest spots from Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Bring Me the Horizon and others. The album spawned one single, "Just Wanna Rock," which cracked the US Billboard Hot 100.
