Liza Wang

Elizabeth "Liza" Wang Ming-chun, also known as "The Big Sister" in the Hong Kong entertainment industry, is a renowned diva, actress, and MC. Born in Shanghai on August 28, 1947, she moved to Hong Kong in 1956 and began her career in the entertainment industry in 1967. After signing up for Rediffusion Hong Kong's first Artist Academy class, she became the first graduate of the academy. Wang has had a successful four-decade career, working for Rediffusion Television Limited until she joined TVB in 1971. She was also a member of the all-girl music group Four Golden Flowers. In addition to her acting career, Wang has had a successful singing career, with albums like 京華春夢 (1980), 楊門女將 (1981), 萬水千山總是情 (1982) and many more. She has sung cantopop and mandopop and performed duets with singer Adam Cheng. Wang has also experimented with stage musicals and is now a Cantonese opera actress. Wang has received several awards for her work in the entertainment industry, including the Best Actress award during TVB's 38th Anniversary and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters by the City University of Hong Kong. She was also awarded the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award in 2007. Wang has been a Chairman of the Chinese Artist Association of Hong Kong from 1992 to 1997 and again from 2005 to 2009. In 2024, she released another single titled "Make My Day".
