Lord Siva

Born Brian Sivabalan on November 24, 1989, Danish urban artist Lord Siva is one of the lead exponents of Denmark’s R&B and hip-hop scene. Hailing from the city of Aalborg, he made his official debut in 2014 with the EP 100, which featured production by Carl Barsk and received rave reviews from Danish media outlets. That same year, Sivabalan teamed up with Barsk once again for 180, his proper studio debut, and gained wider exposure through a feature on Ukendt Kunstner’s “Fortæl dem.” He followed up with the singles “Byen Der Larmer” (2015) and “Blind” (2016), receiving nominations in the category of Revelation of the Year at the DMAs and the P3 Awards. A second album titled 3 arrived in 2017, after which Sivabalan scored his first Number 1 hit in Denmark with 2019’s “Paris,” produced by Vera. In 2020, the Danish artist delivered a third album under the name Lys and reached the top of the charts once again with the 80s synthpop-tinged “Solhverv.”
