LA-based EDM duo Lost Kings aka Robert Abisi (born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 4, 1989) and Nick Shanholtz (born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 22, 1988) formed in 2014 and were later signed to Disruptor Records (an imprint of Sony). Initially churning out remixes of other artists, they launched their career in the blogosphere, with their house-friendly productions gaining traction on tastemaker site Hype Machine. In 2014, they found their unofficial remix of Disclosure's "Latch" (feat. Sam Smith) had drawn a substantial online audience and the following year Lost Kings bagged a Number 28 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 for their remix of Imagine Dragons' "I Bet My Life." The two-piece dropped their first EP, The Bad, that same year on Spinnin' Records, with the EP single "You" featuring Katelyn Tarver, generating a particularly impressive response online. They released a companion EP, The Good, that same year. Lost Kings continued their reign of Hype Machine, notching up 13 Number 1 tracks on the music blog aggregator which ultimately helped pave the way for an official remix of Rihanna's Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "Work" (feat. Drake). They were signed to Disruptor Records/RCA Records in 2016 and christened the signing with a new single, "Phone Down" featuring Emily Warren, the following year entering the US dance charts with "Quit You" featuring Tinashé. 2019 saw the release of two EPs, Paper Crowns and Lost Angeles, while a flurry of singles and tracks have followed in their wake, including "Oops (I'm Sorry)" with Ty Dolla $ign and Gashi in 2020 and "Me Myself & Adderall" featuring Goody Grace in 2021.
