Swiss singer, songwriter and model Luca Hänni was interested in music from an early age and took percussion, piano and guitar lessons. He first became noticed as a musical artist when he competed in 'Deutschland Sucht den Superstar' in 2012. He won the competition, becoming the first ever non- German and the youngest ever contestant to do so. His debut single 'Don't Think About Me' was released in 2012 and achieved Gold sales in Switzerland in its first four days. It reached number one in the Swiss, Austrian and German Singles Chart, which led to him becoming the first Swiss artist to reach number one in Germany since 1960. His debut album 'My Name Is Luca' was also released in 2012, reaching number one in the Swiss and Austrian Albums Chart and number two in Germany. The single 'I Will Die for You' was also released from this album in 2012 and his tour in the same year was extremely popular. Hänni's second album 'Living the Dream' (2013) also reached number one in the Swiss Albums Chart. The highest ranking single from this album was 'Shameless' in 2013, which reached number 25 in the Swiss Singles Chart. The album 'Dance Until We Die' (2014) reached number six in the Swiss Albums Chart, with singles 'Can't Get No Sleep' and 'Good Time' reaching the top thirty in the Swiss Singles Chart. Also reaching number six in the Swiss Albums Chart, 'When We Wake Up' (2015) was his fourth studio album. He also completed national tours in 2013, 14 and 15 to accompany the release of each of these albums. In 2019, Hänni was chosen to represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest. He came fourth overall in the contest, becoming the first Swiss artist to reach the top five since 1993.
