Lucas Santtana is the son of producer Roberto Sant'Ana, himself a cousin of Tom Zé. His childhood was steeped in music, and Caetano Veloso's house was his home. A multi-instrumentalist, Lucas Santtana plays with artists such as Chico Science, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, and his compositions are performed by Céu and Arto Lindsay. After three albums in Brazil, where he continued the Tom Zé tradition of all-out mixing, Lucas Santtana made a name for himself outside his homeland with Sem Nostalgia in 2009. O Deus Que Devasta Mas Também Cura (2012) and Sobre Noites e Dias (2014) establish him as one of the most innovative Brazilian artists of the 2000s.
