The German hip-hop formation Lugatti & 9ine is a rap duo consisting of the rappers Lugatti and 9ine. Traya provides the beats as producer. All three rappers got to know each other at school. They made a name for themselves in the German-language hip-hop scene with their first album 50999 (2017). The title is derived from the zip code of Cologne-Sürth. They regularly hang out there at the Côte da Sürth, a special place on the banks of the Rhine. Their favorite place also inspired Lugatti & 9ine in their search for a suitable name for their own record label, Kinder der Küste. With the single "Salty" , the band managed to land a hit with the scene. They followed this up in 2019 with "Frisches auf dem Herd", from the album of the same name, and "Korn mit nichts". Their songs combine humor with profundity. Lugatti & 9ine went on to collaborate with other artists from the scene, including Longus Mongus from BHZ on the song "Sonnenuntergang" (2019) and Funkvater Frank. The rapper provided the Cologne-based duo with the beats for the EP Tempo (2020). With the album MKS 4.0 , they narrowly make it into the German charts for the first time in fall 2020. in 2021, the album So wie wie gehabt even reaches number 14 and the Swiss charts. The trio's seventh album, Shades, followed in the same year. Cansado, Lugatti's solo album, followed in 2022. The album climbed into the German Top 10 at No. 8, followed a year later by another album, Bis Hierher (No. 12 in Germany). With Kompass, 9ine also released a solo album in 2024. The joint album Gesagt Getan follows later in the year. Lugatti & 9ine reach number 39 in the German charts.
