The German rapper and singer Lune was born Mailan Ghafouri in Germany on September 25, 2002. Her parents are Kurds and come from Iraq. They came to Germany as war refugees in 1995. The artist grew up in Sinsheim in Baden-Württemberg. In spring 2020, she took part in the online talent show Keller sucht den Superstar and simultaneously published various singing videos on social media. In the summer of the same year, the song "Cr1minel" by rapper Samra is released, featuring Lune. A short time later, the rapper released her first single "Gebe auf". Within a few weeks, the song reaches the top 10 and then even number 2 in the German charts. This is followed by the songs "Entourage", "S.O.S.", "Alles verdient" and "Du bist der Fehler". In September 2021, Lune released her LP Mondschein with the tracks "Blut " and "Hab nur eine Bitte", among others. Together with German rapper Zuna, the musician releases the song "Baby 2.0" in September 2021. The single reaches number 16 in the German charts, number 35 in Austria and number 19 in Switzerland. At the end of the year, Lune scores another hit with Samra and the song "Pourquoi". Together with Céline, Lune releases the single "Komm in meine Arme". The song reaches number 14 in the German charts. Mailan, the second studio album, follows in June 2024. The album climbed to number 20 in Germany and reached number 71 in Switzerland.
