Maddie Zahm (March 7, 1998) is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2018 as a contestant on the sixteenth season of reality music competition American Idol. Hailing from Boise, Idaho, she auditioned in Los Angeles with a cover of Dua Lipa's "New Rules" and made it to the next round after getting approval from all three judges. Despite being eliminated during the Showcase Round, her participation in the show gave her the necessary confidence to kick off her solo career with the non-album single "Beautifully Human" in 2018. A string of singles throughout 2019 led to the release of her studio debut, People Pleaser, in 2020. Her prolific streak continued in 2021 with songs like "Stupid Boys," "Family Reunions," "Blind Spot," and "Ex's Side," all of which found the artist getting closer and closer to mainstream pop music. In 2022, her single "Fat Funny Friend" reached Number 86 on the Irish Singles Chart.
